Helen Simcock

Industrial Audiometrist / Paralegal

“I work as a Paralegal in the Industrial Disease Department and it is my job to assist our team of Solicitors in preparing the evidence in asbestos and noise induced hearing loss claims. Part of my role involves carrying out detailed investigations to trace the companies our clients worked for or the relevant insurance company.

Time is of the essence in asbestos disease cases and so it is not unusual for me to visit clients in their own homes in order to take statements and obtain further information to assist our team in achieving the best possible outcome in each case.

I am also a BSA accredited Industrial Audiometrist and carry out hearing tests to determine whether a potential client is suffering with hearing loss and whether it is noise related. The test can be carried out in the office or in client’s home where they live locally. Being able to offer instant hearing tests ourselves means we are able to quickly advise a client whether their claim can be taken on without needing to wait for medical records which can cause lengthy delays. For those suffering with hearing loss I can also advise on hearing preservation and how further hearing loss can be prevented.”
