Rhonwen qualified in 1999 and spent her post qualification experience in large national practices where she specialised in personal injury and industrial disease litigation. She joined Oliver and Co in May 2009 and joined the Industrial Disease Department to head up a team specialising in claims for compensation for industrial deafness and tinnitus. Claims for industrial deafness can be complex due to the length of time which has usually elapsed between the claimant realising he suffers from noise induced deafness and the period of noisy employment. It can involve restoring defunct companies to the company register and tracing policies of insurance. Rhonwen has considerable experience of dealing with these issues and as she has worked for defendant firms in the past, she has good contacts in the insurance industry and an invaluable insight into the conduct of such claims. Rhonwen also has experience in dealing with the whole range of industrial diseases such vibration white finger, asthma and dermatitis. Rhonwen has also dealt with asbestos related disease claims. If you have an enquiry and would like to discuss a claim or injury on a no obligation basis please feel free to contact her via email at rhonwen.barraclough@oliverandco.co.uk |

Helena qualified in 2004 after several years of working as a paralegal in the Personal Injury field. She joined Oliver & Co. in September 2006 and joined the Industrial Disease Department very shortly after whilst still maintaining her involvement in Personal Injury. Helena handles a wide variety of cases including deafness claims, accidents at work, repetitive strain injury, vibration white claims and dermatitis claims. Her main area of specialism, however, is asbestos disease claims, which form the largest part of her caseload. Working within an Industrial Disease Department can often be stressful, with time pressures and complex issues frequently arising, however, Helena has always enjoyed the challenge of new and different cases. Helena has assisted in actively developing the department by forging links with Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Lung Foundation, together with important contacts within the field of Respiratory Medicine. Helena believes strongly that working in the field of industrial disease, and in particular asbestos disease, is not just about processing the legal claim but about assisting and advising clients who are going through a difficult time. |

Victoria graduated in 2008 from the University of Liverpool. She completed her Diploma in Legal Practice in 2009 at the College of Law, Chester. Victoria joined Oliver and Co in June 2008 as a Legal Assistant. Victoria is the first point of contact for many new clients. She is experienced in dealing with clients in an efficient and sympathetic manner and refers clients to the solicitors and also assists the solicitors thereafter. Victoria has excellent research skills and is tenacious in her approach to identifying insurance cover which can be a complex matter when companies have ceased trading some considerable time previously. Victoria is also responsible for collating company information and maintains a comprehensive database which means that insurance can be identified easily and effectively in the future. |

Helen joined Oliver and Co in July 2005. Helen assists the solicitors in a number of ways including researching and identifying insurance cover for the defendant companies. This is by no means straightforward when companies have ceased trading. Helen is adept at clarifying the current identity of a defendant where companies have changed names and ownership over the years. Helen uses her considerable IT skills to identify and resolve these issues at a very early stage in the claim. Helen also has excellent experience of dealing with clients and is sympathetic and professional in her approach. |
